Terms of sale

Who you're buying from

Benys Labs (ABN 74 950 841 543), Victoria, Australia. Benys Labs is my registered business name and CommonRig is one of its products. I build and sell it myself. Support, refunds and licence questions go to hello@commonrig.com and I answer them.

What you're buying

Kit - A$29 one-off. A zip of files, scripts and conventions for Claude Code and Codex, plus 3 months of updates from the purchase date. It runs on your machine - model subscriptions and API usage are yours and separate.

Updates - A$5 a month or A$49 a year. New rule packs and releases while it's active, plus the hosted doctor for CI with your licence key. When it ends the kit you already have keeps working - you just stop getting new releases.

Doctor check - A$0.50 per run, paid with x402 USDC or card. The hosted service scores the masked bundle you send and returns the report straight away. It's a footprint score, not a security audit or a promise your agents will behave.

The kit is used under the CommonRig Kit Licence. The free sample files are MIT.

How payment works

Card (Stripe) - card checkout is run by Stripe's Managed Payments. The sale is processed by Link (Stripe's reseller), which acts as merchant of record - it collects payment, accounts for any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you are out of the listed price, sends the receipt and handles payment questions. Link's terms apply to the payment. The charge on your card statement starts with LINK.COM and names BENYS LABS. I'm still responsible for the product itself - the licence, delivery and support come from Benys Labs.

USDC (x402) and bitcoin (on-chain, BTCPay) - you pay Benys Labs directly and the claim page is your receipt. No tax is added - Benys Labs isn't registered for GST. Blockchain payments can't be reversed by a bank, so refunds on these rails come from me (see refunds).

Prices - are in Australian dollars and include any tax, so the price you see is the price you pay. Bitcoin is on-chain only for now; Lightning comes later. USDC is a US dollar coin, so x402 charges the US dollar equivalent at a fixed rate shown before you pay - the kit is US$20.23 in USDC today.

Subscriptions and cancelling

Renewal - card subscriptions renew automatically at the same price each month or year until you cancel. Stripe sends a receipt for every renewal, and a reminder before yearly renewals where the law requires it.

Cancel - any time, from the order link in your Stripe receipt or the Link order page, or email hello@commonrig.com and I'll cancel it for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal - you keep updates until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Bitcoin and USDC - these buy a fixed period (a month or a year) and never renew on their own. Nothing to cancel.

Price changes - if I change the subscription price I'll email you at least 30 days before your next renewal, and you can cancel before it applies.

Refunds

30 days, no questions, on every purchase. The full process is on the refunds page. That's on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, not instead of them.

Agents buying for you

If an AI agent buys on your behalf, you're the buyer and these terms apply to you. Set sensible spending limits on anything that can pay. If your agent bought something you didn't want, the 30-day refund covers it.

Liability

The kit changes how your agents work, so review what it proposes before you install it and keep backups. Nothing here excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded. Where the law lets me limit my liability, it's limited to fixing the problem, supplying the product again, or refunding what you paid for it.

Everything else

Privacy - what the store logs and why is on the privacy and research page.

Changes - I may update these terms for future purchases. The version that applied when you bought is the one that covers that purchase.

Law - the laws of Victoria, Australia apply. If you are a consumer somewhere else, the consumer protections of the place you live still apply to you.
