Kit licence

CommonRig Kit Licence v1. Short version - use it and change it however you like for your own work, don't pass the kit files on.

1. What you can do

When you buy the kit, Benys Labs (ABN 74 950 841 543), Victoria, Australia gives you a licence to use it on all your own machines and projects, personal or commercial. However you paid, the licence comes from Benys Labs, not from Link or Stripe. You can copy it for backups and modify it as much as you want. One licence covers one person. Teams need one licence per person - email me if you want to sort out a team price.

2. What you can't do

Don't redistribute, publish, sublicense or resell the kit files, changed or unchanged. That means no public repos with the paid files in them, and no bundling them into another template pack or product. You're buying a licence to use the kit, not ownership of it.

3. What's yours

Anything you generate or produce with the kit is yours - instruction files, ledgers, configs, your own work. Use and share it freely. Copying the kit's source files into a generated file doesn't make them yours to share.

4. Updates

Updates you get while the kit's included 3 months or an updates subscription is active come under this same licence, and you keep them after the period ends.

5. Warranty and your rights

Review what the kit proposes before you install it, and keep backups. Apart from that, nothing in this licence excludes, restricts or modifies rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded. The 30-day no-questions refund is on the refunds page.

6. Ending the licence

If you get a refund, or you break section 2 and don't fix it after I ask, the licence ends and you need to stop using the kit files.

7. Free sample files

The free sample (protocols/orchestration.md, doctor/doctor.py, doctor/SCORING.md, doctor/__init__.py and anything else marked as a free MIT sample) is under the MIT licence instead of sections 1 and 2. Being readable or in an examples folder doesn't make a file part of the free sample.
